View and download full-size Instagram profile pictures

Instagram displays profile pictures in small 150x150 circular thumbnails within the mobile app, making it impossible to see subtle details or zoom in on avatars. StorySave solves this limitation by retrieving the uncompressed original profile picture from Instagram's content delivery servers in full resolution.

Simply enter any Instagram username (e.g., @username) or paste the full profile URL into the search box above. StorySave instantly locates the high-definition avatar photo, allowing you to inspect the uncropped image and save it directly to your device. To view and download that creator's active stories, visit our Instagram Story Downloader. For feed photos, see our Instagram Photo Downloader.

Profile picture downloader features

  • Full 1080p uncompressed resolution: Bypass tiny circular mobile thumbnails and access the highest resolution profile image stored on Instagram's servers.
  • Search by username or profile link: Flexibility to enter either a simple username (@handle) or a complete profile URL (instagram.com/handle).
  • 100% anonymous lookup: Profile owners are never notified when their profile picture is viewed, zoomed, or downloaded through StorySave.

Zooming in on Instagram profile pictures

By default, Instagram does not let you tap or enlarge profile photos within the native mobile app. StorySave eliminates this restriction, providing an uncropped, high-resolution view of the original square image. This makes it easy to verify account identities, view intricate profile artwork, or archive profile photos in their original clarity.

Yes. While private accounts restrict access to feed posts and stories, Instagram profile pictures are always public. You can view and download full-size profile pictures for both public and private profiles.

What resolution can I download profile pictures in?

StorySave retrieves the largest image file available on Instagram's CDN, which is typically 1080x1080 or the original dimension uploaded by the account owner.

Can I search using just an Instagram username?

Yes. You can enter either the raw username (such as 'username') or the full link ('https://www.instagram.com/username'). Both methods locate the correct profile.

Does the account owner know I viewed or downloaded their profile picture?

No. Profile picture lookups on StorySave are entirely anonymous. Instagram does not track or notify users when their avatar photo is accessed.

How do I save the profile photo on an iPhone?

Tap Download Image in Safari, long-press the displayed photo, and select 'Save to Photos' to add the high-resolution JPEG directly to your Camera Roll.
